Build capability. Prepare for formal recognition.

The Frontier Transformation Engineer badge recognizes individual skills. The Frontier Partner specialization assesses organizational capability. They have separate requirements; participating in FC does not award either credential.

Guidance reviewed 8 September 2026. Confirm current eligibility in the official sources before applying.

Two different recognition paths.

Frontier Partner specialization

Organizational recognition with prerequisite qualifications and a third-party audit. Partner Center is the source for the prerequisites that apply to your organization.

The audit validates demonstrated capability. An application and completed prerequisites do not replace the evidence needed to pass it.

Read the Frontier specialization program and audit guide

We link to live requirements rather than duplicate prerequisite counts here. Confirm the applicable specializations, skilled-person requirements and account scope in Partner Center.

Prepare evidence of what the practice can do.

The official audit checklist covers assessment and planning, agent design and implementation, secure agent development, and secure agent platform administration.

Use real delivery evidence safely

Prepare relevant artifacts and demonstrations, with the people who can explain them. The checklist allows sanitized or controlled evidence that protects customer-identifiable and sensitive security information.

Check the version in effect

The checklist in effect on the audit date is the one used for assessment. Confirm current application, renewal and scheduling requirements with Partner Center and the audit provider.

Recognition applies to the qualifying organization and eligible associated locations under the relevant Partner Center account. It is not automatically transferable to every subsidiary in a corporate group.

Use the current Microsoft sources.

The earlier Frontier Partner badge is transitional.

Microsoft's August 2026 announcement states that the earlier Frontier Partner badge retires at the end of June 2027. Partners must continue meeting its requirements while using it. Earning that badge does not automatically grant the Frontier Partner specialization.
